Barontoli
First mentioned in a document from 1048. In 1243 the village was a municipality belonging to Siena. Its church, dedicated to S. Pietro, was owned by the abbey of S. Eugenio in the XI and XII century, as stated in two imperial diplomas of Henry IV and Frederick I. In the thirteenth century it became a suffragan of the Parish of Fogliano and in the late sixteenth century, elevated to the title of Vicar Foranea. The church has a single nave with wooden roof and several reconstructions dating back to the XVII and XIX century are obvious. Its Romanesque origin is witnessed by only a few traces in the outer left wall. Inside there are three multi coloured plaser altars, a small marble shrine of the XV century and some paintings of the XVII century.
